Man Sentenced in Berlin-Based Non-Profit Organization Embezzlement Case
The man now lives in Ohio, authorities said.

BERLIN, CT, — An Ohio man has been sentenced to five years of probation for embezzling funds from a Kensington-based non-profit organization from 2008 to 2012.
The Record-Journal Reported that Thomas Recck, 52, of Cincinnati, received a sentence of six months of home confinement. He was also ordered to perform several hundred hours of community service, according to the R-J story.
On Feb. 4, 2015, Recck pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of filing a false tax return. He was ordered to pay $125,649.77 restitution, in addition to back taxes, penalties and interest for the tax years from 2008 through 2012, records indicate.

Recck formerly lived in New Britain and served as treasurer for Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue Inc., according to the R-J story.
