Meet The Berlin PD's Newest DARE Officers

The duo recently completed training to work with Berlin's elementary school-aged youths to teach them important life lessons.

BERLIN, CT β€” Berlin youths will soon get to know two Berlin Police Department officers who recently completed training to be DARE officers.

DARE is an acronym for "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" and it is a staple of scholastic life for young pupils.

The joint police/school program puts officers in the classrooms, with the aim being lessons to help students avoid drugs, gangs and violence.

Recently, the BPD announced that officers Peggy Kennedy and Casey Skinner graduated from the Connecticut DARE Officer Training Academy.

The course preps police staff members to oversee DARE lessons and work with children.

" We can’t wait to see the amazing impact you both will have on our Berlin elementary achool students," wrote the BPD.
