Police ID Man Killed In Payloader Accident In Berlin

The 66-year-old victim was killed in an industrial accident at a local recycling facility on Tuesday.

BERLIN, CT β€” Local police have identified the man killed in an industrial accident Tuesday afternoon at a recycling facility in Berlin.

The Berlin Police Department Thursday identified the 66-year-old victim as being David Dionne from Waterbury, who was killed in the industrial accident at CWPM, 415 Christian Lane, Berlin.

According to the BPD, at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday, police and emergency responders were called to a report of an industrial accident at CWPM.

Police said the report was about an accident involving a payloader and a person possibly trapped underneath.

Police said officers and emergency responders with the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department administered life-saving efforts, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed.
