Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?
Yearbook pages from days gone by at Berlin High School.

BERLIN, CT — In this periodic series, Berlin Patch publishes random pages from Berlin High School yearbooks of the past, as found on archive.org.
Today we go back more than three decades to the 1984 edition of The Lamp, featuring the school's baseball team on pages 70 and 71. Among the top players on that year's squad, which advanced to the Class M championship game as the No. 2 seed, was right-handed pitcher Mauro Gozzo, who went on to a 12-year career in professional baseball.
Drafted by the New York Mets in the 13th round in 1984, Gozzo played three years in their minor league system until a spring training 1987 trade, which saw him and two other players dealt to the Kansas City Royals for star pitcher David Cone. After two more minor league campaigns, he was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1989, and made his major league debut that season. He posted a 4-1 record in nine big league appearances that year.

In September 1990, Gozzo and two others were traded to the Cleveland Indians for left-handed pitcher Bud Black, currently manager of the Coorado Rockies. He later pitched for the Minnesota Twins and the Mets, finishing with a career record of 7-7 in 48 games, including 13 starts.
Berlin Patch invites readers to share their memories in the comments section below.
