Maurice Sendak Exhibit at the New Britain Museum of American Art. To celebrate the 50th Birthday of Maurice Sendak's beloved Where the Wild Things Are, the New Britain Museum of American Art has launched a special exhibit of his work! Your kids will get chills seeing original pieces and fantastical creatures.

Art Explorers students at the New Britain Museum of American Art learn to express their creativity using varied art methods and materials to create personal works of art. New themes will be explored each month with different projects weekly.

A Walk Through the Evergreen Forest at Roaring Brook Nature Center! White pines, red cedars, blue junipers and many more evergreen plants give a welcome note of color in the bleak winter months. They also provide shelter, food, and homes. Take a winter walk and learn about the role of these magnificent evergreens.

Winterfest Hartford Carousel Rides in Bushnell Park. If you thought the carousel’s lights and beautifully painted horses were breathtaking before, just imagine how great they look beside the fluffy white snow and Winterfest decorations. Bring your kids down to Bushnell Park for some winter fun!
