20-Year-Old Bethel Man Sentenced in Sexual Assault Case

A Bethel man was sentenced on Wednesday after being found guilty of second degree sexual assault of a minor.

Jonathan Delossantos, 20, of Bethel, was sentenced on Wednesday, Feb. 3 to 5 years of jail time for assaulting a minor.

The News Times reported in August of 2014 that Delossantos, who was 18 at the time of the incident, was arrested after Bethel police investigated a complaint made by the parents of a 14-year-old victim.

Delossantos was charged with sexual assault in the second degree and risk of injury to a child. His bond was set at $25,000.

According to court records, Delossantos plead guilty to second degree sexual assault, a class C felony, for the incident that occurred on Aug. 21, 2014.

Delossantos was sentenced Wednesday to 5 years of jail with the execution suspended after 9 months, as well as 5 years of probation.
