[Update] Police Receive Additional Reports of Car Break Ins

Incident occurred last Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Update - Wednesday, March 23:
Since Thursday, March 17, the Bethel Police have received additional reports of car break ins arounf the Reservoir Street area. Capt. Robert Cedergren said reports of stolen items from cars have "steadily trickled in" this week, but that the police believe they are all incidents related to original night.

Those responsible for the break ins stole cash and GPS units from unlocked cars in driveways.

Residents are encouraged to to report any additional incidents or information to the  (203-743-5500). The police also remind residents to keep cars locked and alarms on while at home.

According to the Bethel Police, about a dozen car break ins occurred outside of downtown Bethel last Wednesday night into Thursday morning (March 16-17). 

The incident was widespread, as break ins were reported on Bethpage Drive, South Street, Saxon Road, Reservoir Street and others in the area.

According to the police, items such as cash and GPS units were taken out of unlocked cars parked in driveways. The police believe the break ins occurred after midnight.

Residents are encouraged to to report any additional incidents or information to the  (203-743-5500). The police also remind residents to keep cars locked and alarms on while at home.

The police will continue this investigation.
