The 5th annual Bethel High Swimming & Diving team versus BHS Alumni swim meet is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 29, giving three months of some advanced training for those alumni.
Alumni have a 1-3 record in these “mostly” standard meets, including a tough loss last year which came down to the last event, the non-standard “t-shirt exchange” relay.
All BHS Swimming alumni (especially those butterflyers) are invited to “suit up” again. Some of this year’s alumni might be Kelly Nichols, Kristina Villamana and BHS first swim team captain, Ian Babington.

Fun is guaranteed, pizza party and trophy awards follow the meet and the meet helps raise funds to donate to the Children’s Tumor Foundation in the name of BHS Swimming’s #1 fans, Henry & Zack Zowine. The Zowine family helped start the BHS Swim team in the 2003-04 season and an award is given in their name to honor the current team’s swimmer who best represents the love of the sport. A great opportunity to prepare for the alumni meet is to sign up for the Bethel Community Pool 5K road race to be held Sunday, October 16th. Online registration for the event is http://register.fasttracktiming.com or mail an application.
