  • Danbury Railway Museum Pumpkin Patch Train. Ride a vintage train to the pumpkin patch to get a free pumpkin, cider and cookies. Costumes encouraged, Thomas the Train table, coloring station. No reservations needed.

Easton

  • Easton Trunk or Treat and Bonfire. The Easton Girl Scouts and Lions Club present the event on Saturday, October 31. Trunk or Treat from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (5:00 Trunk set up time). Samuel Staples Back Parking Lot. Bonfire at 8 p.m.at Morehouse Fields. Free! Candy donations are accepted at the Parks & Recreation office or the Ext. Day Program (Room 160 @ SSES) through Oct. 28.   • 6th Annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Party, Saturday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Newtown Park & Bark, 21 Old Farm Road, $5 per dog. Games, treats, costume contests, haystack treasure hunt. Proceeds benefit the dog park.

New Milford

  • Parks and Rec organizes a “safe alternative” to trick or treating. Instead of trick or treating in your neighborhood people are asked to register their vehicles, decorate them and then park around the town green on Halloween night from 5:30-7:30. You can pass out candy as children “trunk or treat” from car to car. There will be a Zombie “Flash” Mob at 6:30. For more information call New Milford Parks and Rec at 860.355.6050. If there is heavy rain the event will be canceled.

Redding

  • Redding Trunk or Treat. Saturday, October 31 from 3-5 p.m. Redding Neighbors & Newcomers host the event at the Redding Community Center Parking Lot. Register children in advance by clicking here. Southbury

  • Trick or Treat at Southbury Plaza, Saturday, October 31, 3 to 5 p.m., 100 Main Street North, Southbury. Participating stores will be noted with a pumpkin sign on their door. Drop off a non-perishable food item for the Southbury Food Bank in one of the large orange buckets located near Stop and Shop’s garden center and get a free treat bag to collect your goodies in. For ages 12 and under in costume. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Trick or Treat at Center Firehouse on Saturday, October 31 from 4 - 7 p.m.. The firehouse will be transformed into a maze, appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Members of the Southbury Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Ladies Auxiliary, Junior Corps, and the Southbury Police Department will also hand out candy, glow bracelets, and 9-volt smoke detector batteries. Trumbull

  • History Ablaze, Saturday, October 24th; 6-9 p.m., Trumbull Historical Society, 1856 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, 203.377.6620, Admission: $5, but free to anyone who donates a carved pumpkin for display, www.trumbullhistory.org. This event features a display of Jack-o-Lanterns and a contest for carved pumpkins, tales of Trumbull’s haunted history with live storytellers, and fall refreshments.

Westport

  • CHT’s Ghost & Goblin 5K and Kid’s Fun Run, Sherwood Island State Park,Westport CT: Put on your costume on Saturday, October 25th and take part in this USATF certified 5K on a flat and fast loop through Sherwood Island State Park. The kids fun run features a 100m dash and a 1/4 mile run with awards for all participants. T-shirts for all pre-registered entrants. Before October 12th, it’s $20 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run, after 10/12 entry fees go up to $25 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run.
  • Westport Halloween Spectacular, Wednesday, October 28th. Children in costume parade up Main Street and trick or treat along the way towards Town Hall for more treats, snacks and a DJ dance party. The Main Street parade leaves from the YMCA at the corner of Post Road and Main Street at 3:30pm. The Town Green party starts at 4:30pm.
  • Spooky Stencils at Westport Arts Center. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Westport Arts Center is hosting a special drop-in class for Halloween. Design your own stencil to create your a tote bag to use on Halloween Night. Westport Center for the Arts 51 Riverside Avenue, Westport. $25.00 Non-Members; $20.00 Members. westportartscenter.org.
  • Annual Halloween parade, Monday, Oct. 29. Meet in front of the Westport/Weston Family Y on the corner of the Post Road and Main Street at 3 p.m. The parade will go up Main Street, along Avery Drive and to Town Hall. Entertainment, refreshments and a small gift will be provided on Veterans Green at 3:45 p.m. For children, 7 and under. In the event of rain, all festivities will be moved into the Westport Town Hall beginning at 3 p.m.

Weston

  • Trunk or Treat, Fri, October 30, 4pm – 6pm. Weston Intermediate School, 95 School Road, Weston.

Wilton

Woodbury

  • Woodbury Lions Club Haunted Hayride & Haunted Barn, October 23-24; 6:30-9:30 pm, Mitchell School, School Street, Woodbury. Admission: $12; under 12 $6. woodburyctlions.org. Hay-wagon ride through haunted fields and cemeteries of Woodbury, stop at the Haunted Barn, a 3-D visual display.
  • Trunk or Treat at Hollow Park on Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31. Doors open at 5 for cars decorating their trunks (no cars can leave the area until 7:30 p.m.). Doors open at 6 p.m. for those coming trick or treating. No registration required. Prizes for best decorated trunk and best decorated jack-o-lantern.
