Bethel Awarded State Grant For Downtown Pedestrian Safety Improvements

State funding will support infrastructure upgrades.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel will receive $846,400 in state funding for downtown pedestrian safety and connectivity improvements, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Friday.

The grant was awarded through the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Community Connectivity Grant Program, which provides funding for municipal infrastructure projects designed to improve safety, accessibility and mobility.

According to state officials, the funding will support the Downtown Bethel Main Street Pedestrian Safety and Connectivity Improvements project. The program focuses on projects that make town centers safer and more accessible for pedestrians and bicyclists.
