With just a few days left in 2015, many look to nonprofits and charities to make a tax deductible donation to before the year’s end. Below is a list of some nonprofit organizations in town. Click on the links for more information.
- The Bethel Education Foundation (BEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2004 by a group of parents and educators who to provide assistance to educational programs for public and private education in the town of Bethel.
- The Bethel Historical Society is based out of the historical 1842 Second Meeting House and works to preserve history through educational programs and events.

Friends of the Bethel Public Library
- Friends of the Bethel Public Library is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting the community’s library. The Friends raises money through memberships and contributions with the bulk of the funds raised through the sale of books, audio books, CDs, videos, and other materials.
Housatonic Valley Coalition Against Substance Abuse
- Housatonic Valley Coalition Against Substance Abuse is a coalition of volunteers and staff that strives to help communities avoid the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by providing a variety of services to the community.
Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department
- The Stony Hill Fire Department is a volunteer fire and emergency service protecting the primary response district of Stony Hill and providing automatic aid to the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department. Click here to donate or mail your check to 59 Stony Hill Road, Bethel, CT. 06801
- The Scotty Fund is a 501(c)3 that helps children affected by cancer and their families by providing financial and family support. Grant money is given to children for medical expenses, transportation and other costs associated with the illness. They also provide dinner, child care, errand running and grocery shopping.
