Bethel High School Graduate Thelma-Ann Ward Whelden Passed Away Peacefully
A memorial service for the former Bethel security manager, transportation provider and CNA is planned for May 21, 2016.

BETHEL, CT — On Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 Thelma-Ann Ward Whelden passed away peacefully in her sleep at the family's home in New Milford, CT.
Born June 26th, 1950 in Danbury, CT, Thelma went on to graduate from Bethel High School in 1968, worked as security manager, later as a transportation provider, and more recently as a CNA and also as a Sales Agent for Scentsy, however her real passion was caring for children, helping anyone in need, and shopping at Walmart.
She was the beloved sister to Maryruth Shuflata, Agneskay 'Cookie' Ward, Kenneth Handy, the late John A. Ward, and the late George Ward.
She was a devoted mother to William J. Morrissey III, Tiffani-Ann Morrissey, and Anthony J. Morrissey, of New Milford, CT and also Summer Strickland of Millport, AL.

She was loved by her three daughters-in-law, Tracey, Holly, & Erika and Thelma was absolutely adored by her grandchildren AJ, Brittany, Kaylee, Zack, Brian, Paul, Dillion, Shawnee, Seminole, Sonny, Strongbow, and Madison.
Thelma was also a loving Foster Parent to Frank & Rachel as well as a Great-Grandmother to Jayden.
Thelma was predeceased by her parents, John & Thelma Ward, and her husband, George A. Whelden, Jr.
She is also survived by her Godchildren Kevin, Doreen, Lissa, and Robert, many other nieces & nephews, and hundreds of friends.
The family will honor her memory at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Morrissey (New Milford, CT), with a private interment beforehand.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a children's charitable organization of the donor's choice, in honor of Mrs. Whelden.
