Bethel High School Seniors Earn CIAC-CAS Scholar Leader Award

Bethel High School Seniors Christina Franzese and Patrick Joyce were awarded the Connecticut Association of Schools and Connecticut Interscholastic Association of Schools (CAS-CIAC) Scholar Athlete Award on May 6 at the annual awards banquet held at the Aqua Turf Club. The award recognizes one male and one female from each Connecticut high school "of having achieved excellence in both academic and athletic pursuits". Accompanying the seniors were their parents, coaches Cheryl Lombaro (Softball) and Kristina Kilmartin (Swim and Dive) as well as principal Chris Troetti and Athletic Director Mark Caron. Franzese will be continuing her education in the fall at Fordham University in New York and Joyce will be studying at the University of South Carolina's College of Engineering and Computing in Columbia, SC.
