Bethel to Honor Emily Todd on Gun Violence Awareness Day

The first selectman will declare Friday as Gun Violence Awareness Day in town.

BETHEL, CT — The first selectman will declare Friday as Gun Violence Awareness Day in town.

The proclamation is in honor of the Emily Todd, a Bethel woman shot and killed last year at Bridgeport Harbor, and other gun violence victims and survivors.

First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker will sign the proclamation at 2:15 p.m. Friday, June 7 on the steps of the municipal center, located at 1 School Street, according to a press release. This will be the fifth anniversary of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, observed by many municipalities on the first Friday in June.
