Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event Will Be Held This Saturday
Bring your lighter fluids, swimming pool chemicals, oven cleaners, airplane glue, flea powder, moth balls, septic tank degreasers...
BETHEL, CT — The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority is hosting a "Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Event" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel High School, located at 300 Whittlesey Drive.
The event is only open to residents of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Weston and Wilton.
Hazardous materials accepted include camera batteries, moth balls, paints, septic tank degreasers and more. See below for a more complete list.

Protocol:
- Drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times
- Place items you want removed at the back of your vehicle.
- Workers will remove the contents for you.
- Wait times vary from 5 to 30 minutes depending on volume of traffic. Please plan.
- Contact the HRAA is if you have more than 20 gallons of waste fuel or large quantities of other items
- Be ready to show proof of residency.
