Bethel Houses to be Demolished: Residents Have 90 Days to Object

If no written objections are received by the Building Dept. within 30 days, the department can waive the last 60 days of the waiting period.

BETHEL, CT — The Town of Bethel posted the following legal notice on March 31, 2016:

"The Town of Bethel Building Department, 1 School Street, Bethel, Connecticut 06801 received an application for a Demolition Permit.

The proposal is to demolish five (5) structures located at 89 Maple Avenue and 2-8 Maple Avenue Extension, Bethel Connecticut 06801. The proposal is to demolish two (2) residential buildings, constructed more than 50 years ago, located at 89 Maple Avenue, and listed on the Town of Bethel Assessor's records as on Map 30, Block 67, Lot 19. The demolition proposal also includes a commercial building, and two (2) utility buildings, constructed more than 50 years ago, located at 2-8 Maple Avenue Extension, and listed on the Town of Bethel Assessor's records as on Map 30, Block 67, Lot 20.

The property is owned by Toll CT II Limited Partnership, 250 Gibralter Road, Horsham, Pennsylvania 19044, who will notify property owners within 100 feet of their intent to demolish by certified and registered letters and provide proof to the Building Department of the successful delivery of said letters or the owner's attempt to deliver said letters.

Due to the age of these buildings, a ninety day waiting period is in effect beginning on the date of first publication of this legal notice. If no written objections are received by the Building Department within thirty (30) days of the first publication of this notice, the Building Official has the option of waiving the last sixty (60) days of this waiting period, and granting the permit at that time.
