[Update] Mansa to be Arraigned Next Wednesday Following Drug Ring Bust

Mansa, along with three others, were arrested for running a drug ring in the Greater Danbury area, many of its customers being high school athletes.

Bethel resident Mark Mansa, along with , Kevin Lubic and Richard Sciccetano will face numerous charges in US District Court in Bridgeport relating to a busted drug ring in the Greater Danbury area.

According to the federal indictment, all four are charged with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to sell marijuana from about January 2007 to February 2011.

Specifically Mansa is also charged with five counts of violating federal narcotics laws by intending to distribute anabolic steroids "including, by not limited to Nandrolone Decanoate (Deca Durabolin) and Testosterone Cypionate."

Wagner is charged possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm.

The indictment says, if convicted, Mansa, Wagner, Lubic and Sciaccetano may have to forfeit properties at 195 Old Hawleyville Road in Bethel, .

According to a News Times report, the drug ring was run Mansa, 46, and many of its customers were area high school athletes. It also reported that "investigators claim every month Mansa sold roughly 70 bottles holding 200 milliliters of steroids at a price of up to $90 each."

It was reported that Mansa also sold marijuana in the Danbury area for the past four years and has been investigated for several years.

Mansa, Wagner, Lubic and Sciaccetano are all in custody and are being held without bond. Mansa is expected to be arraigned in Bridgeport on Wednesday, March 23 where he is expected to plead not guilty.
