Bethel & Newtown Moms Partner to Create Unique Family Events
Lisa Agresta and Geetha Selva are co-owners of Connectologie, an event production company, gearing up for the 3rd annual Kidologie.

Lisa Agresta and Geetha Selva are friends and business partners. Generally that is a recipe for disaster, but in this relationship, it works.
The pair are co-owners of Connectologie, an event production company. Lisa lives in Newtown and has three kids; a 14-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy.
Geetha lives in Bethel, moving from India in 1996. Her 15-year-old daughter daughter attended school with Lisa’s daughter since preschool and are “forever friends.” The families all help out at the events they produce. Through working together on fundraisers for the school, Lisa realized that bringing Geetha on as a business partner would help her business move forward.

“I dropped hints to work together but was cautious at first to make sure it didn’t ruin the friendship we have,” Lisa said. “We have the same goal in mind.”
Geetha agreed. “We’re friends first. Our business plan is the same and we are totally unified. We can easily get past problems.”

Geetha said since I was 10 she has known she wanted to own a business, but being raised by a traditional family in India did not allow for many choices.
“It was not easy growing up in India. It’s very education driven, that’s the focus. When you’re born you have two choices; become a doctor or an engineer. If that doesn’t work, try law.”
Her husband is also from India and is very supportive, she said.
Lisa and Geetha are gearing up for the 3rd Annual Kidologie. The event will be held on March 15, 2015 at Reed Intermediate School in Newtown from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets are $20 per family, $8 per adult. The first 300 attendees will receive a free goodie bag.
Proceeds from the event will go to a charity the women will announce once details are finalized. Past benefactors include the Newtown Memorial Fund and the Ever Wonder Children’s Museum.
“Hopefully we can impact change,” Geetha said.
