Campaigning Class For Next Wave of Women in Politics

Future political candidates and campaigners can learn what it takes to win elections Saturday October 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Westport, Conn. The Campaign School at Yale’s (TCSYale) “The Basics” 1-day training is for women of all parties (and the men who support them) who want to learn the fundamentals to be a better campaigner.

• Fairfield County residents: $25 (a reduced rate thanks to the generosity of The Fund for Women & Girls of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.
• Non-residents of Fairfield County: $100

TCSYale is the premiere nonpartisan nonprofit that prepares people to run for office. Their goal is to increase the number of women elected.

Speakers at The Basics include Patti Russo, executive director of TCSYale, Joan Gillman, president of the Westport League of Women Voters, expert speaking instructor Gilda Bonanno. Alumni panelists include State Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey, Jennifer Tooker, former Westport First Selectwoman and current candidate for State Comptroller, Gabriela Koc, Stamford Board of Education members and Director of External Affairs, Office of the State Treasurer, and Dr. Shanté Hanks, Deputy Commissioner of the State Department of Housing.
