Bethel Officer Revives Overdose Victim: Police

The officer is the first from Bethel to use the treatment to treat a victim of an overdose.

BETHEL, CT — Using a treatment that is becoming increasingly more popular among law enforcement in emergency personnel, a Bethel Police officer revived an opioid overdose victim with Narcan

Officer Michael McKinney became the first Bethel officer to use the treatment when responding to an overdose in town Wednesday night, police announced. McKinney treated the man with Narcan intranasally, which police say may have saved his life.

Lauding McKinney's efforts, police added that all police vehicles are equipped with Narcan, and all BPD officers are trained to use Narcan.
