Bethel Officials Warn Residents Of Medicare Phone Scam

Bethel First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker​ is advising residents the town will never call them concerning Medicare.

BETHEL, CT — In an email to residents, the First Selectman's Office warned of a phone scam.

"We received notice from a resident they had received this call:

"I RECEIVED A SCAM CALL FROM A RACHEL TODAY RE MY MEDICARE. I HUNG UP IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE:

"SHE CAME IN ON MY LAND LINE PHONE ID UNDER THE TOWN OF BETHEL!!!! (I RECOGNIZED HER VOICE AND NAME FOR OTHER SCAM CALLS I RECEIVED FROM HER.)"
