Bethel Police Complete Survival Tactics Training Course

Bethel police officers completed the first level of a defensive tactics system based on Brazilian jiujitsu.

BETHEL, CT — Several members of the Bethel Police Department have recently completed the Level 1 Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor Course.

These officers will be returning to the Police Department and sharing their knowledge with the members of Bethel Police Department in future training, according to a post from the police on social media.

The defensive tactics system is based on Brazilian jiujitsu and is designed to help officers humanely prevail against larger and stronger opponents, according to the defense system's website.
