Bethel Resident in Need of Funds for Medical Equipment

The longtime Bethel resident is a quadriplegic and needs funds for an electrical stimulation bike.

Cisco Fernandes, a longtime Bethel resident, broke his neck diving into a pool 15 years ago. His wife Jen jumped in and saved his life as he was drowning.

Due to the accident, Cisco became a quadriplegic, unable to move both arms and legs.

Confined to a wheelchair, Cisco has undergone two shoulder surgeries and can no longer use his manual wheelchair.

His wife Jen, who suffered a heart attack last January at the age of 43 has been his primary caretaker and can no longer do as much for her husband.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Cisco raise money to receive an FES Stimulation Bike, which applies small electrical pulses to paralyzed muscles to restore or improve their function.
