BETHEL, CT — Polls will be open Thursday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. om Thursday as Bethel residents take a second shot at passing a budget.

The $29.5 million town budget is $325,000 shy of the $29.8 million plan that voters nixed on April 11. The proposed capital budget is $1.2 million less than the $2.3 million plan that went down to defeat. Under the plan, the high school gets a new quarter million dollar HVAC system and the town enjoys a new $230,000 street sweeper and $660,000 fire engine.

The $45.1 million school budget passed on the first go-round.
