Bethel Residents Could Avoid Tax Increase in Latest Town Budget

Residents will have chances to comment on the budget later this month and in April before it goes to a vote in the spring.

BETHEL, CT - The town's proposed spending plan for next year does not carry a tax increase, the first time that has occurred since 2007, reports the News-Times.

Officials are mulling over the proposed budget of $71.3 million, which is just over 1 percent above the current allocation.

The proposal calls for education spending of $43.6 million, and $23.3 million for town operations, among other expenditures such as debt service.
