Bethel School Board Chair Resigns

He was a keen advocate for the ongoing elementary school renovations

BETHEL, CT — School board chair Larry Craybas resigned this week after more than a decade on the board, the News-Times is reporting.

Craybas, a Republican and a keen advocate for the ongoing elementary school renovations, has been battling leukemia. He has been board chair for about eight years, and a member of the school board for two years prior to that.

School board vice chair Melanie O'Brien will serve as acting chair until new officers are appointed, and the selectmen fill the board vacancy.
