Bethel Schools To Hold 8th Annual Parent University

The workshops are designed for the parents of prekindergarten through grade 12 students

BETHEL, CT — The 8th annual Parent University, a night of free educational workshops, is scheduled for Feb. 26 (snow date Feb. 27) at Bethel Middle School.

The workshops are designed for the parents of prekindergarten through grade 12 students and meant to help them understand what their child is learning in school and provide ways they can support their child at home.

Parent University is sponsored by Bethel Family-School Partnership Committee, Bethel Central P Teacher Organization and Bethel Public Schools.

The featured workshop is "How to Talk Across the Political Divide." This workshop will provide skills needed to ensure our debates are fueled with understanding and respect instead of anger and animosity. Guest presenters will be Better Angels, a bipartisan citizen's movement.

All workshops are held at Bethel Middle School. Session #1 is 6:30- 7:20 p.m., Session #2 is 7:30- 8:20 p.m.

All new incoming kindergarten families should attend the Kindergarten Orientation workshop at 6:30 p.m. The District is also encouraging incoming kindergarten families to attend the "Kickin’ It in Kindergarten" workshop at 7:30 p.m. which focuses on preparing your child for his/her kindergarten experience.
