Resident families have been encouraged to nominate educators who "exemplify excellence in our profession."
BETHEL, CT — The Public Schools have announced that the nomination process is now open for their annual Teacher of the Year Award.
Resident families have been encouraged to nominate educators who "exemplify excellence in our profession" by Superintendent Christine Carver in her weekly newsletter to parents.
Parents may nominate more than one teacher, after selecting the teacher's school online. The criteria for selecting the recipient is as follows:

- The nominee must have taught in the Bethel Public Schools a minimum of 5 years.
- The nominee should possess a superior ability to inspire learning in students.
- The nominee must be a Connecticut certified teacher who has achieved tenure in Bethel and is in good standing.
- The nominee must teach children at least 50 percent of the time.
- Nominations are due by January 15th. Thank you for recognizing our deserving teachers.
