Bethel Sets Public Meeting for Business Park Expansion

Plans to expand Francis J. Clarke Business Park​ and a proposal for a track and field training center​ at the high school will be reviewed.

BETHEL, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public hearing to discuss plans to expand Francis J. Clarke Business Park and a proposal for a track and field training center.

The meeting will be held Tue., Sept. 25 at at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room D of town hall.

An anonymous benefactor has pledged to fund and build a cutting edge track and field training center on the Bethel High School campus. Available for use by the high school, it would also be a resource open to other teams in the community. The facility would include a 200-meter track, bathrooms, storage and space for athletes to practice hurdling, long jumping and the shot put.

A few years back the town was awarded $100,000 by the state to expand the Clarke Business Park by approximately 10 acres beyond Trowbridge Drive. The plans for review Tuesday would allow for four new lots in the park.
