Bethel Woman Arrested for Issuing Bad Check

A Bethel woman wrote a $600 check that was later returned for insufficient funds.

BETHEL, CT-- A Bethel woman turned herself in to the Bethel Police Department on March 4 after learning there was an active warrant out for her arrest, according to a police report.

Rita Mauer, 56, was arrested for issuing a bad check for $600 check in November of 2015 that was later returned for insufficient funds.

She was released on a written promise to appear in court on March 15, 2016.
