Bethel Woman Arrested for Shoplifting, Fighting with Target Personnel: Police

Police say they were forced to break the window to the woman's vehicle to prevent her from driving away from officers.

BETHEL, CT — A local woman was arrested Friday following an incident at the Target on Stony Hill Road after police say she was fighting with security personnel and had shoplifted from the retailer.

Rocchina Pasqualone, 60, of Oak Ridge Road was arrested on charges of larceny in the sixth degree, disorderly conduct and interfering with police. Police arrested Pasqualone after having to break the window of her vehicle in order to stop her from leaving the scene.

Police responded to the Target at 1:44 p.m. Friday for a report of a shoplifting complaint, and say that Target security was attempting to detain a female shoplifter who was fighting with store personnel. Police later say that Pasqualone left the scene and was stopped on Stony Hill Road.

Police also say that Pasqualone was uncooperative with police, and an officer was forced to break the window of her car to stop her from driving away. Police later found stolen items from Target.

Pasqualone was arrested and released on a written promise to appear, and is due in Danbury Superior Court on Feb. 28.
