Bethel Woman Charged With DUI After Crash She Didn't Remember

The Bethel woman allegedly said she didn't know what happened when the officer asked about 2 popped tires and front end damage on her car.

BETHEL, CT — On Oct. 9, 2015 at approximately 7:45 p.m. police officers were dispatched to Plumtrees and Walnut Hill Road where they found [Name removed due to charges being dropped], 39, of Bethel in her vehicle with heavy front end damage.

When Lieutenant Michael J. Libertini asked what happened she responded that she didn’t know, she was driving along and the car went “boom.” Upon further conversation, Libertini detected an odor of alcohol and noticed that [Name removed] had slurred speech.

A field sobriety test was given by Sgt. Mackenzie and Lt. Libertini and [Name removed] was found to be over the legal limit. She was cuffed and taken to police headquarters where she was later released after her husband posted a $100 bond.

[Name removed] is due in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 19, 2015.
