Bethel Woman Raising Funds for Care of Horse Rescued From Slaughter

Had he not been rescued, Chance would have been sent to slaughter. Here is how you can help him recover.

BETHEL, CT — A Bethel woman is raising funds to care for a horse who was rescued from a kill pen in Louisiana and was set for slaughter, reports the News Times.

Danielle Cyr, 25, who leases space at a horse barn in Redding agreed to board two horses from a woman who had rescued them for the kill pen where they otherwise would have been slaughtered. One of the horses, Sterling, died within a few weeks due to being weakened by hunger and abuse.

Cyr was able to provide the second horse, Chance with initial care, and he is on his way to a full recovery. However, the woman who agreed to board the horses can no longer fund Chance's care, and Cyr cannot afford the expense herself.
