Boughton: 300 COVID-19 Patients Released From Danbury Hospital

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton reported that 300 patients who had been admitted to Danbury Hospital for treatment of the coronavirus were discharged in April. The COVID-19 death toll in the city is 80.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut has reached 27,700, there are 2,257 deaths and 1,650 hospitalizations. Over the past 24 hours, Connecticut saw another 933 positive cases, 89 new deaths and 41 less new hospital admissions.
Gov. Ned Lamont said the financial impact of the new coronavirus on Connecticut is very "sobering." Connecticut is facing a $900 million budget shortfall before the end of the fiscal year, which ends June 30. And in fiscal year 2020-21, Connecticut is staring at a $2.3 billion budget shortfall.
