Dramatic Musical Performance: "Steinbeck Out Loud"

Stories of The Grapes of Wrath are brought to life in a tour-de force performance by one of Connecticut's premier storytellers!

Join us Tuesday May 21, 7-8 p.m., in the Main Room of the Bethel Public Library for the dramatic, musical performance,“Steinbeck Out Loud,” presented by one of Connecticut’s premier storytellers, Carol Birch. Ms. Birch will perform selections from John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath and Woody Guthrie’s “Dustbowl Ballads.”  Steinbeck’s drama is “intensely human yet majestic in its scale and moral vision, elemental yet plainspoken, tragic but ultimately stirring in its insistence on human dignity;” and in this free performance, the thoroughly American novel is brought to life in a tour-de force show!

This event is being generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library, and will be enjoyed by adults and by students in Grades 6-12. Seating is limited, so registration is required. Call 203-794-8756 ext.4, or register online at www.bethellibrary.org.

All Bethel Public Library programs are open to the public and meet accessibility requirements for the disabled. Those needing special accommodations should contact the Library at least two weeks prior to the program to make arrangements. Bethel Public Library, 189 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT.
