Teachers and administrators doing the Cupid Shuffle dance on stage, lots of karaoke singing, a humorous CMT slide show, the Tiger Mascot, dance performances and free T-shirts, were all part of a fun afternoon to relax students for the upcoming CMT tests that started this week.
The Bethel Middle School PEP RALLY took place on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the BMS auditorium where the entire student body and most of the school staff were present.
The message was all about positive energy. Instruction was given as to how to prepare for the CMT tests such as having a good breakfast and a good night's sleep. The importance of attendance was also discussed.
A humorous CMT side show was presented along with photos of the recent BMS Snowball Dance too.
A highlight of the Pep Rally was when all of the teachers and administrators, including BMS Principal Mr. Derek Muharem, and Assistant Principals Ms. Pamela Chapman and Brian Watson, lined up across the stage and performed the "Cupid Shuffle," a dance currently very popular with the students.
Dance routines were performed on stage by several student groups and choreography was learned in the physical education classes. A girls' large "Dance Team" was also a lively routine.
Karaoke got everyone up on their feet singing and dancing. Small groups of students were chosen to participate and sing in front of the audience while following song lyrics projected on a large screen. The students seemed to love "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen and also "I Knew You Were Trouble" by Taylor Swift, among many other favorites, and a few teachers joined the dancing and singing too.
A fun afternoon to relax, socialize and let off some steam for an hour and forty-five minutes, until it was time for dismissal. Free T-shirts were tossed into the air and received by many. The shirts had the BMS school slogan "Respect and Responsibility."
Good wishes to all BMS students this week in the CMT tests!
