Charlene Ann "Cookie" Hammer Lagarto, 73, Passed Away
Charlene was always inspiring by sharing, painting and knitting crafts for cancer patients.

Charlene Ann “Cookie” Hammer Lagarto, 73, passed away at Danbury Hospital on July 25, 2015. Charlene was born January 30, 1942, in Danbury CT, to Ted and Gladys Hammer.
Charlene’s passion in life was her six children and nine grandchildren. Charlene was always inspiring by sharing, painting and knitting crafts for others. She knitted hats for cancer patients which were donated to the Salvation Army, Red Cross and Danbury Hospital. She was also well known for wearing numerous hats and had a passion for perfume.

Charlene is survived by her daughters Diane Lagarto (Lowell Fisher) of NH, Barbara Lagarto (Jim Saffiotti) of New Fairfield, CT, Cindy Lowman (Toby) of MA, her sons, Tony Lagarto of Washington DC, Jeff Lagarto of NH and Brian Lagarto (Georgina Petro) of New Milford, CT, nine Grandchildren; Amber, Amanda, Sara, Kristi, Rachel, Kira, Geremy, Kylie and Ehren.
She is also survived by her former husband Antonio L. Lagarto, who was ever present in her life, Alex Horton-Lagarto, brothers Ted and Terry Hammer both of New Milford, CT and her sister Sandra Keane of Bridgewater, CT. In addition to her parents, Ted and Gladys, Charlene was predeceased by her sister Connie and brother Howie.

A celebration of Charlene’s life was held at the Company A Firehouse, 302 Ball Pond Rd. New Fairfield, CT on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 6:00pm.
