Construction At Codfish Hill Culvert In Bethel To Begin This Week

During construction, expected to last about a month, a section of Codfish Hill Road will be closed to all traffic.

BETHEL, CT — The Town of Bethel will begin construction on the replacement of the existing Codfish Hill Culvert on Wednesday. The culvert is in the vicinity of 131, 133, 140 and 146 Codfish Hill Road.

Construction is expected to be complete within approximately one month, depending on the weather. During this time this section of Codfish Hill Road will be closed to all traffic, according to a statement from Eric Swenson, Bethel's Public Works director, released Monday.

The Bethel Schools have been working in conjunction with the bus company and have revised some of the bus run times and designated stops because of this closure, according to Swenson. Families of students who live in the closed portion of Codfish Hill Road and are directly impacted will be notified by phone by the bus company of a bus stop change. Buses "may run a little late" for those bus stops not directly impacted, Swenson said in the letter.
