Coronavirus Bethel: Case Confirmed At Middle School
Health officials have determined that Bethel Middle School can remain open after a member of the community tested positive for COVID-19.
BETHEL, CT — A case of the coronavirus was confirmed for a member of the Bethel Middle School community.
Schools Superintendent Christine Carver notified families in a letter on Monday.
The last time the infected person was in school was Friday.

"In this instance, a group of students, but no staff were identified as direct contacts," Carver wrote. "We were able to reach all direct contacts today to notify them for the need to quarantine."
Following consultation with the town Department of Public Health, officials determined that Bethel Middle School can remain open, on the current hybrid schedule.

"The health and safety of all members of our school community remain our priority. We want to remind families to continue to conduct daily health screenings for symptoms before sending students to school or any extracurricular programs," Carver wrote.
