Countdown to Relay For Life 2015 Celebration! Many Fun Activities Planned! Starts June 12

Countdown to Bethel, Redding, Danbury Relay For Life 2015 Celebration! It’s Almost Here! Many Fun Activities Planned! Starts June 12.

In about a day and a half from now the Relay For Life event will begin.

Check out the Schedule of Events for a time line of activities that begin at 4:00 p.m. on June 12 and go through the night and next morning, until the closing ceremony on Saturday, June 13 at 9:45 a.m.

Schedule of Events

The Field Games, Fundraisers, Luminaria Sales and Raffle Sales open at 4:00 p.m. June 12, and the Kids Lap begins at 5:00 p.m. Luminaria are sold until 9:00 p.m.

Survivors Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Bethel High School cafeteria then the Opening Ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m. with the Survivors Lap on the Bethel High School (BHS) Track.

Between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. the local Crosstown Band will provide music.

There will be a Lego and Superheroes Lap at 8:00 p.m. and then a Cupcake Eating Contest at 8:15 p.m.

The Luminaria Ceremony takes place at 9:00 p.m. It is a moving and meaningful ceremony that takes place at darkness, and all the Luminaria bags lining the track are lit, honoring loved ones and there is a memorial Silent Lap.

At 10:00 p.m. there will be “Light Up The Night” and “Minute to Win It” games. 50-50 Bingo by Pro Access is in the Hair tent at 10:30 p.m.

Between 11:00 p.m. and 12 midnight there is a Poker lap, Miss Relay begins, and there is Ballroom Dancing.

At 12 midnight is the Dance lap, and the Miss Relay Awards are given, followed by Bingo at 12:30 p.m., a Conga Lap and Scavenger Hunt at 1:00 a.m., Left Right Center at 1:30 a.m., Hat lap and Cheeseballs at 2:00 a.m., Scrabble at 2:30 a.m., Umbrella lap at 3:00 a.m., YMCA Lap and Team Building Activities at 4:00 a.m., and the Backwards lap at 5:00 a.m.

At 5:30 a.m. you can wake up with a Frozen T-Shirt Contest! 6:00 a.m. brings a Blindfold Lap and Sunrise Yoga. A Powerderfest will take place on the baseball field.

The Purple Lap is at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K Registration Opens. Fernanda’s Band starts playing at 7:30 a.m. and Hop a Lap is at 8:00 a.m. The Pancake Breakfast is at 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Beat the Beat 5K Run begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13th (registration at 7) and the Kids Run is at 9:15 a.m. The 5K Run will be held on the Bethel High School XC Course and the Kids Run will be held on the Bethel High School track. All proceeds go to the Bethel Relay for Life

There’s a Team Lap at 9:30 a.m. an the Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony at 9:45 a.m.
