Domestic Dispute Involving Kitchen Knife Leads to Arrest

At approximately 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, Melinda Johnson, 43 of Fleetwood Avenue, was arrested at her residence following a domestic dispute that occurred with her live-in boyfriend.

According to the police report, Johnson first scratched her boyfriend's face with her fingernails and then came after him with a "large kitchen knife." The boyfriend locked himself in the bathroom and called the police. Johnson "continued hacking at the bathroom door with the knife in an attempt to get the the boyfriend."

Johnson was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, threatening in the second degree and disorderly conduct. She was held on $1,000 bond and will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
