Evelyn M. Stange, 85, of Bethel, Passed Away on Dec. 8

Mrs. Stange was a Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church of Bethel and served on many boards and committees.

Evelyn M. Stange, 85, of Bethel, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, after a long illness.
Evelyn was born to Raymond and Edna Menegay on April 30,1930 in Jamaica, NY.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Stange andher children, Douglas, Mark and Julie; daughters in-law Donna Stange and Joanne McInerney Stange and her adored grandchildren, Lily and Izzy.
Evelyn often expressed that she had a wonderful life. She enjoyed her home of 63 years, surrounded by family, gardens and pets. She was proud to raise and train over 13 puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and care for beloved horse Happy.

Evelyn graduated from Long Island A & T in 1950 with a degree in Advertising Art and worked in the field until starting a family. Through her life her artistic talent was much admired. She shared her love of the photography, painting, crafts and gardening. She enjoyed the theater, playing basketball, traveling, swimming, skiing and fly fishing.

Evelyn was an active member in The First Congregational Church of Bethel for 63 years. She taught Sunday school and served on many Boards and Committees. She will be remembered for her dedication to service and her creativity. Evelyn is predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Robert Menegay.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Congregational Church Bethel, Book of Remembrance, 46 Main St., Bethel, CT 06801.
