Family of Bethel Father of 3 Seeks Help for Cancer Treatment
John Mahoney, Jr., Bethel High School class of 1987, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer.

A member of the Bethel High School Class of 1987 was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer and his family is seeking financial help through a Go Fund Me page.
John Mahoney, Jr., 47, is a single father of three children; Amanda, 24, Tyler, 26 and Riley, 15. He also has a 3-year-old granddaughter named Shaelyn. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer just before Thanksgiving. He will undergo aggressive chemotherapy and radiation and will need a stationary feeding tube which limits his daily mobility.
John is a construction General Foreman with 30 + years in the industry and is nearing retirement, his son wrote on the page, however, as a result of the side effects he will be unable to work during his treatment.
His son Tyler wrote on the fundraising page:
“As a single father of 3 John has always been there as a provider for his children and I feel it’s time we return the favor. We are looking for an easier way to reach out to the community that knows and loves John. I would like to make sure that John’s personal and financial needs are met through these difficult times. Any donation would be tremendously appreciated.” - Tyler J. Mahoney
