Firefighters Battle Fire at Bethel Home

An occupant who was inside at the time was rescued by a firefighter.

A fire at a single family Bethel home was extinguished Wednesday morning.

The Stony Hill Fire Department along with the Bethel Fire Department responded to the fire on 43 Castle Hill Drive at around 8:50 a.m.

An occupant who was still inside was rescued by a firefighter along with assistance from Bethel Police.

The fire department discovered the active fire on the first floor of the home, according to Fire Marshal Thomas Gailford. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes.

The occupant was transported by Stony Hill EMS to Danbury Hospital with injuries consistent with smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation at this time by the Bethel Fire Marshal’s Office and the Bethel Police Dept.
