Former Bethel Principal Appointed New Fairfield Superintendent

Dr. Patricia Cosentino was appointed as the head of New Fairfield Public Schools.

NEW FAIRFIELD, CT — Former Bethel High School Principal Dr. Patricia Cosentino will become the next superintendent of New Fairfield Public Schools.

Cosentino has served as the superintendent of Region 12 School District in Connecticut since 2012.

"The Board of Education following an exacting superintendent search, taking into account the needs of the district along with the input form the community to find the best candidate for New Fairfield," said Board Chair Peggy Katkocin. "We feel that Dr. Cosentino meets that criteria and is an excellent choice to lead the district at this time.

Cosentino began teaching in New York. She became the principal at Bethel High School for six years.

"I am grateful to the Board of Education for having the confidence in my ability to lead and positively impacting New Fairfield," Cosentino said. "Together we will build a foundation of kindness and respect as we work towards continuous improvement highlighting out accomplishments and celebrating our achievements."

The superintendent search was facilitated by consultants at Cooperative Educational Services in Trumbull.
