BETHEL, CT — The holidays officially kick off and immediately shift into high gear with the Town's Winterfest celebration on Friday, Nov. 29.
Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the day-long celebration is among the most ambitious in the Greater Danbury Area, and includes activities for young and old, throughout the Town:
On Greenwood Avenue:
1-2 p.m.: Gingerbread House Decorating Contest at Royal Choice Global Transportation
1-4 p.m.: Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides at The Gift Cottage
1-4 p.m.: The Bling Stop Face-Painting at the Chamber of Commerce
1-5 p.m.: Author signings at Byrd's Books
1-5 p.m.: Soup served by the Boy Scouts
1-6 p.m.: Trolley Rides from Broken Symmetry to the Train Station (6 p.m. ride is final, no return)
2-5 p.m.: Scavenger Hunt at The Toy Room, co-sponsored by Sunflower Studios
Until 5 p.m.: Record Store Day/Live Music at Disc & Dat
All Day: Gift certificate specials at Patricia's Presents
All Day: 40 percent off all jewelry and gifts at Silver Touch
5-8 p.m.: Whisky Tasting at John Fulton Jewelers
