'Just No Words': Bethel Mourns Woman Killed In Murder-Suicide

Neighbors have responded with an outpouring of support for efforts to help the family of the Bethel woman killed in her home.

BETHEL, CT — Neighbors have responded with an outpouring of support for efforts to help the family of the Bethel woman killed in her home earlier this week.

A GoFundMe page has been established for Traci-Marie Jones who left behind three children Tuesday after her estranged husband fatally shot her before killing himself.

The online effort, organized by Melissa Guner of Wilton, has raised $17,095 from 202 donations in its first 24 hours.

"Her family has made it clear that they are not asking for money, but knowing how much people love Traci and want to contribute, have given their blessing to pursue this effort," Guner posted on the fundraiser page.

Heather Moran started a Meal Train for the family, organizing a steady delivery of food to their Reservoir Street home.

"Lunch and dinner are appreciated. Italian meals, cold cut sandwiches, chicken, beef, they are not picky. A cooler will be left on doorstep," according to the effort's organizer.

Neighbors have also been leaving flowers and mementos outside the Brittany Shears salon on Greenwood Avenue, where Jones worked as a hair stylist for nearly three years.

"She truly did light up every room she walked into. She was the heart of our salon family. There are just no words," the shop posted on Facebook.

The Bethel PD responded to a complaint regarding yelling coming from the home at 11:49 p.m Tuesday. First responders found Traci-Marie Jones had been shot once in the chest and once in the head by her estranged husband Lester, who then turned his gun upon himself. Traci-Marie was pronounced dead at the residence, police said. Lester was taken to Danbury Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.
