Knickerbocker and Straiton Announce Bethel Reelection Bids
If elected, it would be the sixth term for each Democrat.
BETHEL, CT — First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker and Selectman announced their bids for re-election at the annual Bethel Democrats fundraiser banquet.
If elected, it would be the sixth term for each Democrat.
"We love what we do, and there is no greater honor than serving the wonderful people of Bethel, as we have done for the past decade," Knickerbocker said.

Over 130 people attended the April 10 banquet, as reported on the Democratic Town Committee's website.
"I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and excited to continue our work for another two years," Straiton said.

On the Republican side, Steve Deuschle announced he was dropping out of the race for first selectman, citing family reasons. The Republican Town Committee has not yet named a replacement.
