BETHEL, CT — Bette Anne Ireland, 83, of Bethel, passed away on Jan. 19, 2023, at Bethel Health Care after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Bette Anne was born in Danbury to Edward and Lillian Coffey on May 5, 1939. Bette Anne attended Danbury High School and graduated in 1957. She married Earl Ireland on October 8, 1957 in Bethesda, Maryland. Bette Anne worked for a number of companies in the Danbury area; most notable was Davis & Geck. Bette Anne was a devoted Catholic parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury.

Bette Anne is preceded in life by her husband Earl, son, Earl Jr, and granddaughter Jessica. Bette Anne is survived by her son Gregory, daughter-in law Deborah, sister, Barbara "Bobbie," and brother in law, Alan Schirmer of Danbury. Bette Anne is also survived by two grandsons Justin and Scott.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday Jan. 31, 2023 at St. Joseph Church with Father Samuel Scott, officiating. Burial will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations or contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
