Obituary: Carol Ann (Gereg) Murphy, 82 Of Bethel

BETHEL, CT — Carol Ann (Gereg) Murphy, age 82 of Bethel, died unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was the widow of James B. Murphy.

She was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Wildman) Gereg.

Carol retired from Danbury Plumbing Supply in 2008 after which she devoted her time to her family.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Scott A. Murphy and his wife Cindy of Bethel, Todd J. Murphy and his wife Lynn of Pamplico, SC, Her grand children Adam (Dalyla) Keene, Coleen (John) Ehli, Brittany (Scott Gentile) Murphy, Rachel (Aman) Desta, Erin (Taylor Throckmorton) Murphy, James Murphy, and Joshua Murphy. As well as her great-grandchildren Beylee, Emma and Bowie, Gentile, and Angel and John Jr. Ehli. Along with her siblings Donna "dee" (Robert) Berggren, Pamela (Jim) Menona, and Dennis Gerig, and her sister-in-law Caroline Murphy as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department, 36 South St., Bethel, CT 06801, or to Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation at T2T.org.

The funeral will be held at the Bethel Funeral Home, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
